Dunklin County Recorder of Deeds
Responsibilities
The office of the Recorder of Deeds serves an essential role in government. It maintains and preserves some of our community’s most essential records; these records are highly important to individuals and businesses.
The Recorder of Deeds records, files, preserves and provides access to documents of writing affecting:
- Federal and state tax liens
- Military discharges
- Marriage licenses
- Real property
- Subdivision plats
- Other instruments of writing
These document with the exception of military discharges date back to 1872 and are considered an historical gold mine for many individuals.
Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Recorder of Deeds office to provide an easily accessible, accurate and timely archival system of the county land records while providing prompt, courteous and efficient customer service.
Online Document Filing Portal
In June of 2006, counties in Missouri agreed to create a portal that would allow the electronic filing of documents throughout Missouri. Currently, 90-plus counties in Missouri are accepting documents. This allows anyone E-Recording to go to one website to submit their documents for electronic recording, rather than visiting an individual site for each county.
Please contact our office if you are interested in electronic filing or have any questions.
